Referral Credit Structure

Boxthecity offers a 10% referral credit based on the qualifying product subtotal only for eligible client orders referred by Approved DMC Partners.

Referral credits:

  • Are calculated on product costs only

  • Exclude services, shipping, taxes, fees, rush charges, or tariffs

  • Hold no cash value and may not be redeemed for cash or cash equivalents

Approved Partner Requirement

Referral credits are available only to Approved boxthecity DMC Partners.

Submission of a referral does not guarantee approval. Boxthecity reserves the right to approve or decline partners at its discretion based on alignment with brand standards, gifting scope, and operational capacity.

Organizational Referral Structure

Referral credits are tracked at the organizational level, not by individual DMC employees.

Each DMC organization may designate one primary referral contact responsible for:

  • Submitting referrals

  • Managing earned referral credits on behalf of the organization

Boxthecity does not track, split, or allocate referral credits across multiple individuals within the same organization.

Eligibility Criteria

New Client Requirement
Referral credit applies only to clients who have not previously engaged with boxthecity in any capacity, including inquiries, proposals, or purchases.

To qualify for referral credit, all referrals must be formally submitted and documented in one of the following ways, prior to any engagement, proposal, or sourcing activity:

  • A direct email introduction that includes:

    • The referred client company

    • A representative of boxthecity

    • The designated referral contact from the referring DMC

  • OR - Submission through boxthecity’s official DMC Referral Form, followed by a direct email introduction as outlined above

Informal introductions, including but not limited to text messages, verbal introductions, social encounters, meetings, events, conferences, or unrecorded communications, do not constitute a qualifying referral and are not eligible for referral credit.

Boxthecity determines referral eligibility based solely on verifiable written documentation.

Referral eligibility applies to the client organization, not to individual planners or contacts, as personnel and roles may change over time. Referral eligibility is tied to the referred client company, not to individual planners, contacts, or roles.

Active Gifting Potential
The referred client must have a confirmed event, campaign, or initiative with a clear need for gifting services within six (6) months of referral.

Referral Credit Validity Period

Referral credit eligibility remains valid for twelve (12) months from the date of the initial introduction to the referred client company, provided qualifying orders are placed within that timeframe.

Referral credit applies only to orders directly resulting from the initial introduction to the client organization and does not extend to unrelated future engagements, personnel changes, or individual contacts beyond the eligibility period.

Minimum Order Requirement

To qualify for referral credit, the referred client must place a qualifying gifting order with a minimum product subtotal of $5,000 USD, excluding services, shipping, taxes, and fees.

This minimum applies exclusively to the following gifting categories:

  • Ready-to-Gift Collections – curated selections available for immediate fulfillment

  • Semi-Custom Gifting – pre-designed sets with light personalization or branding

  • Custom Gifting – fully bespoke sets developed in collaboration with the client

Orders below this threshold or outside these categories (including bulk promotional items or à la carte sourcing) are not eligible for referral credit.

Referral Credit Issuance & Use

  • Referral credits are issued after final client payment and order fulfillment

  • Credits may be applied only toward future boxthecity product purchases

  • Credits may not be applied toward services, design fees, assembly, logistics, shipping, taxes, rush charges, or tariffs

  • Referral credits expire twelve (12) months from the date of issuance if unused

Non-Transferability

Referral credits are non-transferable, non-refundable, and may not be assigned, sold, or shared with third parties.

Right to Decline

Boxthecity reserves the right to decline referrals, partnerships, or credit issuance that do not align with brand standards, gifting scope, minimum requirements, or operational capacity.

Referral credits are designed to support ongoing collaboration and reinvestment into meaningful gifting experiences.
