Destination Management Companies

Since 2019, boxthecity has partnered with Destination Management Companies (DMCs) across the U.S. to create meaningful gifting and activations that elevate the guest experience and reflect the destination.

Thoughtful gifting requires intentional sourcing, creative development, and coordination with small makers. Because of this, how we engage with DMCs depends on where you are in the process.

The pathways below are designed to make collaboration clear and successful for everyone involved.

Repeat Programs

Have we worked together on this program before?

✔ Same client
✔ Same or similar gifting
✔ Confirmed business | Ready to contract

Welcome back! Please email info@boxthecity.com and include:

  • Program name
  • Updated quantities
  • Event dates
  • Any changes from the prior order

We’ll streamline the process and move forward quickly, ensuring we have availability to accept the program and working with you on next steps.

Unconfirmed Business | Bidding

Are you still in the early stages - bidding, budgeting, or shaping a proposal?

At this phase, many partners are not yet ready to engage in detailed gifting conversations, deposits, or formal next steps. That’s completely okay.

During early planning, we recommend:

  • Exploring our Inspiration pages to understand gifting styles, formats, and creative direction
  • Reviewing sample price ranges and timing guidance across featured work
  • Referencing past programs showcased on our site

This allows you to confidently include gifting in your proposal or budget framework - without placing unnecessary strain on creative resources, makers, or timelines.

Once business is confirmed and gifting becomes an active priority, we’re happy to engage more deeply.

Confirmed Business | Ready to Move Forward

Has the business been awarded and gifting is ready to take shape?

✔ Client confirmed
✔ Budget direction emerging or approved
✔ Timeline aligned

Great - this is where collaboration begins. Our goal is to ensure our team is able to design gifting that reflects both your client’s vision and our standards.

At this stage:

  • Projects are reviewed to ensure they meet minimum spend and lead-time requirements
  • A signed agreement or design deposit is required to initiate sourcing and creative development (Deposits are applied to the final invoice)

DMC Referral Program

Prefer to introduce us directly to the planner?

In many cases, planners choose to work directly with us on gifting. When appropriate, this often results in:

  • Clearer creative direction
  • More efficient use of budget
  • Faster approvals
  • Stronger overall outcomes

DMCs who formally introduce boxthecity to a planner may be eligible for a referral credit when gifting moves forward and program criteria are met.

Additional details and eligibility requirements are available through our DMC Referral Partnership Guidelines.
